Terms of Use — Tahavol (تحول)
Version 1 · Effective date: 2026-08-04 (۱۴۰۵/۰۵/۱۳ in the Iranian calendar)
Unofficial translation. This English text is a courtesy translation provided for convenience only. The Persian version at https://legal.tahavolapp.com/fa/terms.html is the sole binding and governing text; in the event of any discrepancy, ambiguity or conflict between the two, the Persian text prevails in matters of interpretation and enforcement. The factual descriptions below — the economics, the stake rules and the third-party notification behaviour — describe exactly the same service as the Persian text.
Tahavol is a habit-building app in which you can place a contractual stake on your own commitment. Because the service runs on purchased credit and part of that credit is forfeited if you do not keep your commitment, please read sections 6 to 13 in full before using it. They are written in plain language with exact numbers so that nothing surprises you.
1) Definitions
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Provider / we | Masoud Saeedi — section 23 |
| User / you | The person who creates an account in the app |
| Coin | Limited-purpose in-app credit — section 6 |
| Shield | A consumable that rescues progress in the first days of an absence — section 9 |
| Slot | A permit to keep one more active habit — section 9 |
| Stake | Coins you lock to secure your own commitment — section 10 |
| Absence episode | The run of days that passed the daily deadline without a log — section 11 |
| Court | The app screen where you can rescue missed days with a shield or a coin penalty — section 11 |
| Backup | A third party whose number you provide so they learn of your failure — section 13 |
| In-app force majeure | A technical rule that accepts a log which arrived late because of a technical fault. Not the same as the legal force majeure in section 20 |
2) Acceptance and changes
- By creating an account and using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
- The governing text is always the version published at https://legal.tahavolapp.com/fa/terms.html
- Material changes are published with a new version number and effective date and announced in the app. Superseded versions remain in the archive area of the same address.
- No electronic signature or per-version acceptance record is currently stored; your continued use after a new version is published constitutes acceptance of it.
3) Account and sign-in
- Sign-in is by mobile phone number and a one-time code only. There is no password.
- Each phone number has exactly one account, and accounts may not be transferred or sold.
- Your phone number is the complete key to your account and its holdings. Protecting your SIM and device is your responsibility.
- 🔴 If you intend to release or deactivate your number, tell us first. A number recycled by the operator reaches the next subscriber, who could then access your account including your wallet, habits and backup details. We have no other way to detect this.
- Signing out revokes every session for that device.
- We may suspend an account that has been unused for a long time, to protect the user.
4) Age and capacity
- The minimum age for using the service is 13.
- Financial actions — buying coins and placing a stake — require being 18 or older with legal capacity.
- We do not verify your age, because entering a birth date is optional; your own declaration governs.
- Use of financial features by a minor under 18 is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian.
5) What the service is — and what it is not
Tahavol is a habit-tracking tool and a self-imposed commitment device. No outcome is guaranteed.
- 🔴 The service is not medical, psychological, therapeutic or pharmaceutical advice and is not a substitute for professional treatment.
- If you are in a fragile physical or mental-health situation, consult a professional before placing a stake. Penalties and forfeited coins can create real financial and psychological pressure.
- Motivational content shown in the app is quoted material attributed to others and is not professional advice.
6) The legal nature of coins
- A coin is limited-purpose credit usable inside Tahavol.
- A coin is not money, a deposit, a security, a currency or a cryptocurrency, earns no interest, and creates no ownership of cash.
- Coins are not convertible to cash and not withdrawable.
- Coins are not transferable to another user or another account.
- Sources of coins: purchase with real money, the welcome gift, activity and habit-completion rewards, and discount codes.
- The coin ledger is held server-side and is the only authoritative record. It is append-only; every coin movement creates an immutable row.
- Gift and promotional coins are granted gratuitously and may be limited, time-bound or withdrawn. A discount code grants extra coins; it does not reduce the price you pay.
7) Buying coins
- The purchase channel depends on which build you installed.
- Installed from Cafe Bazaar or Myket: purchases go only through that store's in-app payment.
- Installed directly from https://tahavolapp.com: purchases go through the bank payment gateway.
- Coin and shield package prices are shown in the app and the in-app shop screen is the authoritative price. Prices may change; no price is printed in this document so that you are never shown a stale figure.
- Coins are credited after receipt verification or gateway confirmation, so a delay of seconds to minutes is possible.
- Each purchase is credited once and only once; resubmitting a receipt grants no extra coins.
- If a payment succeeded but coins were not credited, send the payment reference to tahavolapp.com@gmail.com and we will investigate.
8) Withdrawal and refunds
8-1) In-app purchases from a store
Purchases made through Cafe Bazaar or Myket are governed by that store's refund policy, and a refund must be requested there. We have no corrective access to a store's transaction ledger.
8-2) Direct purchases through the bank gateway
Coins are treated as a delivered service the moment they are credited to your wallet, and are not refundable in cash. That said, if within seven days of the purchase you have used no part of that purchase's coins, you may send a withdrawal request to tahavolapp.com@gmail.com to be reviewed under the distance-selling rules. Spent coins, forfeited coins and gift coins are not eligible.
8-3) What is never refunded
- Coins staked and forfeited under section 10
- A coin penalty paid and burned under section 11
- The early-exit forfeited share
- Consumed shields, purchased slots, and the backup activation fee
9) Shields, slots and the backup fee
- Shields are bought with coins, not real money. A shield only rescues progress and streak; it preserves no part of a staked amount.
- Habit slots: the base cap is 3 active habits. Each additional slot is bought with coins on a ladder: 20 coins for the first, 40 for the second, 80 for the third, and a flat 80 thereafter. A slot is permanent and non-refundable. A slot is only a permit — the habit inside it may be free.
- Backup activation fee: the first backup in the lifetime of an account is free; every later activation costs 5 coins. If your balance is insufficient the activation is rejected and nothing is charged.
10) Staking — the habit commitment deposit
10-1) Opening a contract
| Rule | Value |
|---|---|
| Shortest stakeable duration | 21 days. You may run a shorter habit, but you may not stake on it |
| Minimum stake for a 21 to 40 day duration | 50 coins |
| Minimum stake for a duration over 40 days | 100 coins |
| Maximum stake | Your choice; any amount above the minimum |
🔴 Staked coins leave your wallet and are locked at the moment the contract opens — not at the end of the period and not at the moment of failure. No separate fee is charged for opening a stake.
10-2) What happens to staked coins
| Event | Outcome |
|---|---|
| Successfully completing the whole period | 100% of the principal is returned, plus the completion reward in section 12 |
| Voluntary early exit | 30% is forfeited and 70% returned; the streak resets to zero and the habit is archived |
| Failure on day 8 of an absence episode | 100% of the staked coins are forfeited; the habit is not closed and continues free of charge |
- The 30/70 split is integer-only and the fractional remainder favours you; no coin is created or lost.
- Early exit is not available in the middle of an absence episode. You must first resolve the missed days in the court. This restriction is deliberate: otherwise nobody would ever accept a failure and the whole commitment mechanism would be toothless.
- A habit carrying an active stake cannot be archived, and the app returns the corresponding error; you must first exit the contract so the coins are settled.
- A habit without a stake moves no coins; exiting or failing it only resets the streak.
10-3) This is not gambling
Staking is a contractual commitment deposit on your own performance, not gambling or betting:
- The outcome does not depend on chance; it depends only on your own performance
- No other user shares in your gain or loss and no one plays against you
- Forfeited coins are not paid to any user
- Coins are never convertible to cash, so there is no monetary win or loss
11) Absence, penalties and the court
If a daily deadline passes without a log, that day becomes pending and an absence episode begins. Days are counted from one:
| Episode day | Rescue | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Days 1 to 3 | Shield | 1 shield per missed day — at most 3 shields |
| Days 4 to 7 | Coin penalty | max(40 coins, 15% of the staked principal), debited from the free balance and burned |
| Day 8 | No rescue | The habit fails automatically and section 10-2 applies |
- A habit without a stake also has a coin penalty, with a floor of 40 coins.
- If you do not have enough shields or coins the rescue does not happen and the app shows the corresponding error.
- Once-per-lifetime amnesty: once in the life of your account you may clear all pending days across all habits at once. It is not repeatable.
- In-app force majeure is an automatic server-side rule for logs delayed by a technical fault. Its decision is automatic and creates no right to negotiate.
12) Habit completion reward
A habit that finishes its whole period earns coins in proportion to how well it was performed. Free habits earn this reward too.
- The reward ceiling is about 18% of the number of days in the period — for example 3 coins for 21 days, 7 for 40 days, 12 for 66 days.
- A period shorter than 21 days earns nothing; its reward is zero.
- Only the habit's own scheduled days are counted. Logging on a day that is not in the habit's schedule builds the streak but earns no coins.
- The projected reward shown in the app is computed with the same rule that pays out at the end.
13) Backups — and your undertaking regarding a third party
By enabling a backup you give us another person's mobile number so that we can send them SMS.
13-1) Your undertaking and liability
- 🔴 You represent and warrant that you have obtained the necessary permission from the owner of that number and that they agree to receive these messages.
- Any claim, demand or damage raised by that person or any authority because of these messages is your responsibility, and you indemnify us in that respect.
- Entering the number of someone who has not given permission is a breach of these terms and may lead to suspension of your account.
13-2) What the SMS reveals
Your name — or, if you have entered no name, your mobile number — together with up to two of your habit titles and a count of the remainder if there are more, and the fact that you did not keep your commitment today or that your commitment has failed.
13-3) Limitations you must know
- A backup is permanent; after activation there is no in-app path to remove or replace it.
- A hide-the-title option exists per habit but is off by default; if your habit title is private, turn it on before enabling a backup.
- If a missed day of yours is later restored under the in-app force-majeure rule, no correction SMS is sent to the backup.
- The activation fee is as in section 9 and is not refundable.
14) Cheating and abuse
- Your device clock is not authoritative. Deadlines are computed from server time and the service evaluates signals of time manipulation; a log that does not agree with server time is rejected.
- The following are prohibited: manipulating the clock or the runtime environment, using automation to log progress, attempting to bypass rate limits, reverse engineering or tampering with the service, creating multiple accounts to exploit gifts, and entering a backup number without permission.
- On breach, any or all of the following may apply: rejection of the log, revocation of gift coins, suspension of the account, and loss of staked coins.
15) Your content
- Content you enter — habit titles and descriptions, notes, ticket text and attachments — remains yours. You grant us only the licence needed to store, process and display it in order to operate the service.
- Unlawful, criminal, abusive or rights-infringing content is prohibited.
- Our support staff can access the text and attachments of a ticket in order to answer it.
- We may remove unlawful content and, where required, report it to the competent authorities.
16) Messages and notifications
- Service messages — sign-in codes, habit status, purchase receipts — are an inseparable part of the service.
- For promotional notifications, the control available today is turning off the app's notifications in your device settings, or removing the device from the notification list. There is no per-category notification settings screen in the app.
- A general announcement is sent to all active users.
17) Service changes and mandatory updates
- We may add, change or remove features, and different features may be enabled in different markets.
- Updates may be mandatory and older app versions may stop working.
- Your staked principal is fixed at the moment the contract opens. However, economic percentages and floors — such as the early-exit forfeited share or the coin-penalty floor — apply as at the moment of the event. If we change those figures we will announce it in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect.
18) Suspension and termination
- We may suspend an account for breach of these terms, abuse, or legal requirement.
- Suspension may be reversible; contact tahavolapp.com@gmail.com for a review.
- While suspended, the account's coins cannot be used and create no claimable cash value.
- 🔴 Suspension does not automatically settle your open stakes. If your account is suspended and you have an open stake, contact support to have it settled.
- To end your account yourself, see the account deletion page.
19) Limitation of liability
- The service is provided "as is" and uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed.
- We are not responsible for: SMS carrier failures or undelivered SMS, store or payment-gateway failures, network outages or access restrictions, loss of data stored on your device, or the consequences of others gaining access to your SIM or device.
- Our liability for any claim is capped at the equivalent of the coins you purchased from us with real money in the preceding twelve months, and compensation is made in coin credit.
- This limitation does not cover wilful misconduct or gross negligence, and applies only to the extent permitted by mandatory consumer-protection law.
20) Legal force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure to perform because of an event beyond its control — including natural disasters, nationwide power or network outages, governmental decisions, and failures of carrier or payment-gateway infrastructure. This clause is not the same as the in-app force majeure in section 11, which is a technical software rule.
21) Intellectual property
The Tahavol / تحول name and mark, the interface design, the texts and the service code belong to the provider, and republishing, imitating or commercially exploiting them without written permission is prohibited. Motivational quotations shown in the app are attributed to their authors. Your own content remains yours.
22) Governing law and dispute resolution
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
- Use the support channel first; most disputes are resolved there.
- Failing that, the competent forum is the general courts of Qom.
- For purchases made in Cafe Bazaar or Myket, that store's refund policy takes precedence.
